Mid-Winter Construction Update

Even though the weather outside is frightful -- cold, snowy and generally gloomy -- construction planning is heating up. Plans are being made for this year's house build to be located in Corning. We are looking for people interested in serving as site hosts, site supervisors and crew leaders for this next construction season.

Site hosts are those indispensible people who help volunteers sign-in upon arrival and make sure everyone is happily occupied throughout the day. They are the "hosts" of the party, so to speak. No construction experience is needed for this job. Once a month to every six weeks on a Saturday or a Wednesday is all that is needed timewise.

Site supervisors do need to have some construction experience. They are the site managers for the day, making sure the jobs lined up for the day are undertaken, volunteers all suitably "employed," and questions are being answered.

Crew Leaders -- and members -- have a specific task. For example, the plumbing crew. These folks have an assigned task and work to finish that particular phase. Experience again is needed, be it plumbing, drywall finishing, electrical, etc.

For more information, please contact the office at 936-4444 or email habitatcorning@clarityconnect.com.
