Hi folks,
Thanks to everyone who came out last week to help get the house underway -
Elmira College student for building the house deck and part of the shed
Women Build participants (Lowes, Local 1000 Women of Steel and Corning Inc.'s Society of Women Engineers; Corning Credit Union) for the incredible job framing the house
the carpenter's union (local #281) for putting up the trusses.
The exterior walls are up and roof trusses are place. High winds on Sat. prevented us from getting the sheathing on the roof.
The primary goal for the next week or so is to get the sheathing and shingles on the roof.
Regular work days now will be Wednesdays & Saturdays. Our primary need for volunteers the next few days (Wed, 5/12; Sat., 5/15; Wed., 5/19) will be for skilled volunteers who can help get the roof on.
If you haven't been to the build site yet, it's at 266 Bridge St., right next to the RR tracks.
Regards,
Bruce
